Girls night

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dave, but sometimes you just need a little girls night in your life. I want to talk about clothes, boys, what the Kardashian's are up to (even though I hate Kim), and whatever else. In DC it was a good way for me to get some of my closest friends together at one time and I loved it. We're in a new place with new friends and I'm not entirely in that comfort zone with these girls yet but I'm willing to put in the work to get there.

Having Katie and Mary down here this weekend I was reminded at how great it is to have friends you can do nothing with. I'm all for doing things too but let's be real: I'm lazy. I would much rather be on the couch at home watching tv with a friend than go out. I'm doing my best not to compare these new friends to my other friends. After all it took time to get there with them too, so I just have to be patient.

Tonight is the first monthly girls night and although only half of the girls I invited can come I'm still really excited. To get to know people better I'm having everyone bring their favorite food, keeping in mind it's just snacks and not a full meal. I'm making my famous crab dip and putting out cheese and crackers.

Here's to a new chapter with new friendships!
