samples

The other night I told Dave not to make me say it, sometimes saying "you were right" just HURTS. But in this case maybe  Dave was right. We purchased three paint samples for our living space so we could tell the painters what we decided a few days before we close so they can order the paint.

Since we don't own the house yet we can't put paint samples directly on the walls but the painters need to know the color we want a few days before closing. What a conundrum. But as always Home Depot had a solution. We purchased these clear adhesive backed papers that we can paint, peel off and apply to the walls to see if we like the color. They are easy to take off the walls without damaging them and allow you to get a good idea of what the paint would look like. Monday night I painted three colors to try out and last night we went to the house and put them up in a couple different spots. Thank goodness we did because neither of us were fans of any of them. So back to Home Depot we went and got four more samples. We're going to the house tonight to see if we could live with any of them. I feel like we're the 3 bears in the Goldilocks story....one is too blue, one is too purple, and the other is not quite right. Gray is such a hard color to get perfect, or at least it is for me and Dave to agree upon a gray. Here's hoping that these next set of samples with have our ideal one in it.
