Creative pay it forward

I really love doing things to brighten peoples day, and on Facebook a few months ago I saw this:

Creative-pay-it-Forward: The first five people to comment on this status will receive from me sometime in the next calendar year, a gift- perhaps something handmade, or a book, a cup of coffee or baked goods, or a candle, music, a white elephant gift, or a treat to lunch. - A surprise !!! There will likely be no warning and it will happen when ever the mood strikes me. The catch.... Those five people must make the same offer in their FB status.

I decided to re post and lucky 5 (ok 6) people were interested. I sent off my first package on Monday and I'm really excited for my friend Aubrey to get it. I've known her since middle school and I hope that this random package brightens her day. The fun in this is that it can be anything of my choosing. For the next 4 packages, as with this one, I am going to try to continue to send things I know the recipient would want. It also gives me a good reason to craft.
This package contained:
~a candle
~daily devotional
~my favorite kettle corn from eastern market on capitol hill in DC
~homemade cards for her to send out

Just a little something fun to randomly brighten some one's day. You can do something like this too. It doesn't have to be so planned out or even crafty but maybe you hold the door for someone, buy a cup of coffee for a co-worker or bring in treats to the office. A kind gesture goes a long way. People need to feel important and cared for. Wouldn't it be a great feeling to impact someones day in such a positive way?

What will you do?

  1. Oh Lauren... I loved it all! Everything was perfect for me!! I love popcorn and just in the past few months have really been enjoying kettle corn... and oh my gosh this stuff is amazing!!! the candle is the perfect scent... (how did you know!?) It's a musky earthy mixture and it's my absolute favorite!!! Ever since Germany, I have LOVED those musky earthy scents (and colors)!! And the cards! Soo perfect, I was just telling Derek the other day that I wanted to get a little stash of cards to have on hand for random events so that I could send them out whenever! And these are so special! I will have a hard time giving them out because they are all so cute - I might just have to send myself a 'thinking of you' note ;) You have such talent!! You should sell them!! What a perfect little thing too - a little grouping of cards for a different occasions!

Anyways, You are too sweet! Thank you so much!
