Labor Day

I love having a Monday off. You don't get the usual sadness that seems to accompany Sunday night. It's nice knowing you  have one more day of sleeping in. For labor day, Dave and I took a little trip to Boonsboro, MD, which is about 45 minutes away from us,to the Crystal Grottoes. These caverns were founded in 1920 and they were pretty cool and had been on my bucket list for quite some time. It was 54 degrees down in the caverns and was amazing to look at the stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed over millions of years.

  1. This is my favorite blog!! I love getting to "spend a day" with you through your little updates! I love caverns! Derek and I went to one on the way to the grand canyon! It's awesome to see all the stuff in there! These particular ones (I am blanking on the name at the moment) have a large storage area of food, water, and medical supplies in the tragic case of an emergency (for the president and his staff). There is also an area in which you can stay over night! It has a room, tv, bed, kitchen (I think) - It was awesome!
